Family Fall Fun on a Budget

Rachel Cruze

Money Management for Parents

Q: Our money is tight, but we still want to get out and have some family fun this fall. Help!

Rachel: Isn’t fall awesome? The weather, the leaves, all things pumpkin—I love it all.

One of the best things about fall is that there are so many free and cheap activities you can do.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Head to your local farmers market before they close down for the year to get some of those amazing fall vegetables!
  • Go on a picnic! Pack a lunch and head to a park with your family. Take advantage of this beautiful weather by spending time outdoors.
  • Take a stroll through a pumpkin patch! This is one of my favorite fall activities. With Halloween right around the corner, now’s the time to enjoy all things pumpkin.
  • Visit a fall festival. Many towns have street festivals with vendors, bounce houses, and live concerts. And the great thing about it? They’re free!

You’ve got so many free and fun fall options this time of year, so get out and enjoy them!
